Get a megadose of the thriving local dance scene at A Weekend of Texas Contemporary Dance, a festival showcasing six established companies. Dance Source Houston and its founder, Christina Giannelli, have brought together the spirituality-infused Ad Deum Dance Company, the ultra-innovative Suchu Dance, and local staples Hope Stone Dance, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Revolve Dance Company and Sandra Organ Dance Company (independent choreographers Leslie Skates and Becky Valls will also present). The program includes two premieres as well as revivals and excerpts. A related event, Dance Around the World, is a special family matinee featuring the Houston Ballet’s youth troupe and J&L New Arts Company. See A Weekend of Texas Contemporary Dance at 8 p.m. today and tomorrow. See Dance Around the World at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Miller Outdoor Theatre, 100 Concert Drive in Hermann Park.
