Bayou City Art Festival

300+ artists from around the world offer up creations in 19 different media

The Bayou City Art Festival brings together more than 300 artists from around the world, ready to show off their creations in 19 different mediums. Each artist (Houston Press staff photographer Daniel Kramer participated this year) was chosen by a group of jurors, and the work they'll have on display includes pieces in clay, drawing/pastel, fiber/textiles, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor and wood. Everything from sea glass jewelry to photographs of bridges in the mist will be at your fingertips in front of City Hall, Hermann Square and Sam Houston Park. Perspective-bending illustrator J.D. Hillberry is the featured artist this year, bringing his M.C. Escher-inspired work to display.
