In his latest outing under the Tony Spinosa pseudonym, Coleman's The Fourth Victim takes a look at New York truckers. Three drivers have already fallen to the serial killer known as the Oilman Murderer. When the fourth victim, Rusty Monaco, is killed, his bosses Joe Serpe and Bob Healy, both ex-cops, start their own investigation. In the process, they find that Monaco had a huge stash of cash, money the two men suspect came from a racially charged crime committed years earlier.
The sequel to Coleman/Spinosa's 2006 whodunit Hose Monkey, The Fourth Victim features some of the same poetic and violent suspense that previously earned Coleman an Edgar nomination and just snagged the Shamus Award. 5 p.m. Murder by the Book, 2342 Bissonnet.
