The Midnight Meat Train

All aboard for the blood-and-guts buffet

Be there for the Houston premiere of The Midnight Meat Train. No, it's not a porno flick. Instead, this 2008 celluloid locomotive journey is a hardcore horror film based on a Clive Barker short story in which a New York City photographer tries to hunt down a serial killer he believes is murdering late-night subway riders with a meat cleaver. Of course, nobody believes him (cue pie-eyed girlfriend and uninterested police force). Excessively gory even by horror standards and with an incredible shock ending - and that's not including an appearance by Brooke Shields - MMT serves up a blood-and-guts buffet sure to appease even the hungriest horror fans. 11:55 p.m. Friday and Saturday. River Oaks Theatre, 2009 West Gray. For information, call 713-866-8881 or visit www.landmarktheatres.com. $9.50.
Fri., Oct. 24, 11:55 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 25, 11:55 p.m., 2008
