Buckethead. You know the story: Kick-ass guitar player wears KFC bucket on head, mask on face, used to play with Guns N’ Roses. (Personally, he reminds us of Stevie Ray, risen from the dead to rain down his ridiculous riffage for all eternity. But it’s a dude named Brian Carroll.)

All fans of anything metal, hardcore or hair bands should see this masked shredder of strings. Buckethead has worked with legends such as Les Claypool, Bootsy Collins, Saul Williams and Mike Patton. He’s recorded more than 20 albums and movie soundtracks and been a part of just as many, if not more, bands and collaborations. Fans of Guitar Hero II know him from his finger cramp-inducing contribution “Jordan.” Of course, these résumé points pale in comparison to seeing Bucket-head work his magic in the flesh. See if you can follow his frenzy after That 1 Guy starts things off at 8 p.m. Meridian, 1503 Chartres. For information, call 713-225-1717 or visit www.meridian-houston.com. $20 to $23.
