Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal returns with a wedding and a circus. The internationally acclaimed dance company makes its third trip to Houston for two Bayou City premieres. Didy Veldman’s TooTis an acrobatic, three-ring romp to Shostakovich’s Jazz Suite No. 2. Donning circus-inspired apparel, the dancers bound and fling around the stage as if they were swinging from trapezes or galloping under the big top. Nocesis Stijn Celis’s rephrasing of Bronislava Nijinska’s classic Stravinsky-backed Les Noces. Celis puts his own contemporary twist on the widely redone ballet, which chronicles a Russian peasant wedding. The costuming hints at the past, with all 24 dancers in whiteface, with the girls wearing tulle and cloth braids and the boys sporting black suits. See this Made in Canada procession of brides, grooms and carneys at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Wortham Theater, 501 Texas. For tickets and information, call 713-227-2787 or visit www.houstonballet.org. $17 to $54.
