Paleontology fans will find out how crime-scene investigation techniques are being used by anthropologists during today’s “Dinosaur Mummy CSI: Cretaceous Science Investigation” Behind-the-Scenes tour. Participants will meet Leonardo, a 77-million-year-old Brachylophosaurus canadensis (more commonly known as a duckbill dinosaur), and learn how CSI techniques were used to find out what kind of life this creature might have led and how he died. The exhibit is the first time Leonardo, the most perfectly fossilized plant-eating dinosaur ever discovered, has been seen by the public, and the tour is a chance to get an insider’s look into all things dino-ific — including a chance to rub Leo’s skin! (If you miss today’s event, don’t worry, the tour repeats on December 16 and January 6.) Led by David Temple, associate curator of paleontology, the tour begins at 6 p.m. Houston Museum of Natural Science, One Hermann Circle Drive, in Hermann Park.
