An Evening of Playback Theater

Watch as improv performers act out your life onstage

The folks behind An Evening of Playback Theater go on stage with little more than an openness to new ideas. The small group of improvisational performers listens to the personal stories from the audience and, taking just a sentence or a phrase as a starting point, turns them into scenes that inspire everything from laughter to tears. A mix of improv theater, psychodrama and storytelling, Playback Theater lets the audience members see their lives acted out onstage. It’s fun — and it’s cathartic (as in you’ll feel better when it’s over). See what promises to be one of the most authentic and spontaneous two hours of the season today at 7:30 p.m. The Jung Center, 5200 Montrose. For information, call 713-524-8253 or visit www.jung-houston.org/programs. $10.
Fri., Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m., 2008
