Beau Chamberlain creates fantastical foliage. His acrylic paintings and dioramas feature colorful clusters of Dr. Seuss-esque branches, trees, leaves, flowers, sticks and stones. It’s almost as if the Lorax or a Sneech is going to pop out from one of his enchanting environments. The painting Apartment Living depicts a fat, leafy branch in front of a pink background; a spider-ish creature crawls out of the corner, extending its abnormally long, multi-colored legs to the green, yellow, brown, red and orange leaves.
Chamberlain’s dioramas are 3-D versions of his paintings. In It’s Complicated, twisty branches and fuzzy leaves reach down from the top of the box to meet squiggly plants and rocks sprouting from the bottom. See all of Chamberlain’s nature-friendly, whimsical wonderlands from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Through January 3. CTRL Gallery, 3907 Main.
