It's been nearly three years since the Strokes released a record; in the meantime, we've learned just how much talent is hidden behind front man Julian Casablancas's yelp. Hot on the heels of Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.'s second solo LP comes Little Joy, a project showcasing the songwriting crafts of drummer Fabrizio Moretti alongside Los Hermanos singer-songwriter Rodrigo Amarante. The pairing sounds like a day at the beach, with breezy Tropicália brushstrokes alongside pitch-perfect pop songs that would still sound at home on a Strokes LP. With Binki Shapiro also in the mix as Little Joy's very own Nico, the three-singer group makes a strong case for extending Casablancas's holiday even further.
