Sing with us: On the twelfth Grown-Up Storytime, BooTown gives to you, a greatest hits of tales that aren’t new. (Ah, holidays.) “Grown-up Storytime 12: The Greatest Stories Ever Told” is a rerun of favorite tales from the local theater collective’s performance series. Every month, Boo-Town takes outsider submissions for its themed event and puts the best onstage. Today you’ll see the best of the best — both onstage and onscreen. Live performances include The Legend of Applejack, a tale about a horse written by an elementary school student; Belly Itcher, the story of a guy who gives poison ivy to a stripper; and DIY Badassness, a step-by-step instruction on how to relocate your shoulder. Onscreen, you’ll see taped performances from past Grown-up Storytimes, including El Duende, a Colombian folktale about a man who comes in the night to steal children’s horses. Each tale will be introduced by the host of “Grown-up Storytime 1,000,000: Stories from the Future” who is — what else? — a robot. The once-upon-a-times begin (again) at 10 p.m. Rudyard’s, 2010 Waugh. For information, call 713-521-0521 or visit www.bootown.org. $5.
Tue., Dec. 16, 10 p.m., 2008
