The Houston Symphony’s Very Merry Pops is one of the most beloved of Houston’s holiday traditions — along with the annual stagings of The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol— but the Pops has more sing-along possibilities. Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski will wave his baton before 200-plus musicians and singers as they try not to collide with each other vocally on “The Twelve Days of Christmas” and other holiday favorites. Special guests will include “boy soprano” Mark Mendell and Mr. Santa Claus himself. New this year will be a live soundtrack performance of the movie The Snowman, along with the usual ho-ho-ho-ing and fa-la-la-ing. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Jones Hall, 615 Louisiana. For information, call 713-224-7575 or visit www.houstonsymphony.org. $29 to $114.
