Put your kid on a career path starting now at the Downtown Aquariums Marine Biologist and Zoologist for a Day events. During the Marine Biologists session (December 22), kids will hand-feed stingrays, dissect a squid and prepare food for animal feedings. Theyll also meet some of the aquariums more exotic sea creatures, do some water quality tests and participate in an interactive video conference with a -biologist.

More About
During the Zoologist for a Day session (December 20 with a repeat on December 29), kids will get the chance to get to know the Downtown Aquariums drier residents, including the white tigers. Theyll also learn about the aquariums birds, reptiles and amphibians. Theyll have interaction with live animals (though were guessing not with the white tigers), help build animal enrichment toys and see how the aquariums residents are trained and cared for by the facilitys expert staff.
Both sessions include a tour of the aquarium, with stops at the alligator exhibit, the rainforest (watch out for those poison dart frogs!), a visit to an oversized python and the signature attraction, those rare white tigers. Both camps are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 410 Bagby. For information, call 713-223-3474 or visit www.aquariumrestaurants.com. $49.99.
