Kids, why not make a day of it at the New Year’s Eve Bash at the Children’s Museum of Houston? At the stroke of noon, there’s a Time Square-like ball drop and a parade of “floats” (actually, kids wearing large boxes they’ve decorated for the occasion). Other activities include live performances by the Voodoo Brass Band, and creating firework sparklers and paper plate tambourines. There’s even a guest appearance by a character from the upcoming movie Where the Wild Things Are. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 1500 Binz. For information, call 713-522-1138 or visit www.cmhouston.org. Free to $5.
Wed., Dec. 31, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., 2008
