If you guessed the new Cedar Creek (1034 W. 20th St., 713-808 9623) has the same ownership as Onion Creek and Dry Creek, you guessed right. "Our menu is a blend of both Onion and Dry Creek, but this place is much larger than the other two," says owner Gary Mosely.

The new spot, in Shady Acres between Oak Forest and the Heights, actually has a creek running through it. "We like to choose an area that has not been developed as far as restaurants are concerned," says Mosely. "We want to be a part of the neighborhood, and we found this beautiful piece of land...so we're going to stick with it and serve similar food, like sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas and fajitas. We'll grow the menu with our customer base."
Dish paid them a visit on the day they opened for lunch and enjoyed a Cedar Creek Burger topped with Stubbs barbecue sauce and served with a bowl of garlic fries that were to die for.
