3rd Annual MLK Youth ParadeWeb exclusive!By Olivia Flores AlvarezPublished on January 14, 2009 at 1:41amThe official holiday isnt until Monday, but you can get a head start on celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during todays 3rd Annual MLK Youth Paradewith floats, marching bands and all the usual spectacles. Local rap artist Trae is this years Co-Grand Marshal, and arts education advocate Fernell Hogan is one of the parades honorees. At just an hour and a half long, the Youth Parade might be a bit more appropriate for squirming little kids with short attention spans (Mondays MLK Grande Parade is three hours long). Noon. Things start off at Jackson and Texas. For information and route information, call 713-953-1633 or visit www.mlkgrandeparade.org. Free.
