Momma’s Man

Web exclusive!

There’s something about the American psyche that seems forever young, and that’s not always a good thing, especially in Azazel Jacobs’s Momma’s Man, a 2008 independent film screening at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The story focuses on Mikey (Matt Boren), a husband and father who stops in to visit his parents in their Manhattan loft during a business trip. Everything seems normal enough until Mikey decides to stick around. He invents reasons for changing his plans, and soon enough it becomes pretty clear that Mikey’s not planning on going anywhere. 1001 Bissonnet. 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday. For information, call 713-639-7515 or visit www.mfah.org/films. $6 to $7.
