Comedian Carl LaBove calls himself a “scene-ist,” performing scenes instead of jokes with punch lines, and one of his most popular scenes is about teaching self-defense to wildebeests. “That is the dumbest animal I’ve ever seen in my life,” he says. “Two thousand pounds, horns, hoofs — lions run up and eat them like apples.
