Man of La Mancha

Web exclusive!

The Spanish Inquisition isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a Broadway musical, but Man of La Manchamanages to pull it off. The story’s hero, Don Quixote, goes around fighting with imagined foes, bringing justice to the world that exists only inside his head. That the bad guys are actually just some innocent windmills doesn’t make Quixote any less heroic. Don’t be surprised if you get a little choked up when the first few bars of “The Impossible Dream” start playing. 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, with an additional 2 p.m. performance Sunday, February 8. Through February 8. Hobby Center, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-861-7045 or visit www.masqueradetheatre.com. $36.25 to $56.25.
Fri., Jan. 30, 8 p.m.; Sat., Jan. 31, 8 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 1, 2 p.m.; Feb. 6-Jan. 7, 8 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 8, 2 p.m., 2009
