Lisa Marie Godfrey pulls together a psychedelic psych-out

Lisa Marie Godfrey promotes post-psychedelia in "PRISMATTAK."The curator for Domy’s latest group exhibit says the work on display is something new and trippy for the 21st century. “[It’s] less flowy and more geometric,” says Godfrey. Brent Wadden’s acrylics on paper overlap intense patterning and tribal imagery for a dizzying yet clean-lined array of colors and shapes. “It’s bright, psychedelic work that seems to be filtered through electronic devices,” Godfrey says. Rebecca Ward’s site-specific installation uses colored tape for a piece Godfrey calls a vortex that’s a “cross between a drawing and sculpture.” See these and other psyched-out works by local, national and international artists from noon to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. Domy, 1709 Westheimer. For information, call 713-523-3669 or visit www.domystore.com. Free.
