Nameless Sound presents three experimental musicians, Maggie Nicols, Fred Frith and Susan Alcorn, in their first-ever collaborative work. Houston native Alcorn is celebrated by country music and experimental sound fans alike for her twisted twang. Frith has rocked avant-garde style with the likes of John Zorn and Brian Eno. Nicols is a Scottish improvisational vocalist who combined her talents for theater, music and humor to become a premiere performer on the European free improvisation scene in the 1960s. Given these musicians extreme and, more important, eccentric and distinct talents the performance should make for quite the sight (and sound). You wont want to miss a beat, provided there are any. 8 p.m. DiverseWorks, 1117 East Freeway. For information, call 713-928-5653 or visit www.namelesssound.org. Free to $13.
