Shhhh!

“The Boardroom” artists are keeping secrets

Off the streets and into the gallery, “The Boardroom,” Art League Houston’s first-ever graffiti exhibition, isn’t your average scrawl on the bathroom wall. The show features large-scale, original murals created collaboratively by artists WEAH, ACK! and Raiko Nin (this is also the first time the group has worked together). The artists create works on paper, freight trains and walls. Together they’ve created a mix of bold, sprayed and splattered colors with intricate details worthy of a gallery. As a complement to the vibrant wall-size works which were created on site, filmmaker Alex PR!MO Luster will showcase several videos. We’d like to be more specific about the show’s subject matter, but the artists and filmmaker are keeping their masterpieces under wraps until the opening. Regular viewing hours start today. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Through April 17. Art League Houston, 1953 Montrose. For more information, call 713-523-9530 or visit www.artleaguehouston.org. Free.
Mondays-Saturdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: March 6. Continues through April 17, 2009
