In this season’s first installment of the Wordsmyth Play Reading Series, Stop, Traveler, it’s been ten years since Shawn Alexander left his hometown in the Midwest. It wasn’t a happy scene — his family rejected him for being gay. Now an invitation from his brother brings him back, but it’s a homecoming that will have far-reaching consequences. Playwright Eric James will be on hand after the staged reading for a talkback session with the audience. 7 p.m. Stages Repertory Theatre, 3201 Allen Parkway. For information, call 713-726-8953 or visit www.wordsmyththeater.org. Free.
