Tiny circles make up Brent Fogt’s “Silent -Topographies.” The artist uses the simple shapes to create ink drawings that resemble — among other things — maps, internal body systems, plants and galaxies. Thousands of circles are used to shape and shade works like Transplant, which is either an aerial view of a waterway or a microscopic peek at a central nervous system. Fogt’s chosen method explores themes infinite and finite, macro and micro, leaving the viewer to determine whether each image is close up or far out.
