It’s been less than a decade since Latin jazz drummer Dafnis Prietocame on the international music scene. In that time, he’s won a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Jazz Album. He’s also racked up stage time with Latin and jazz greats like Eddie Palmieri, Chucho Valdez and Roy Hargrove. The New York Times called his playing “infernally complicated and infernally precise.” Normally, that would be extreme praise for a young musician, except for this — in his case, it’s true. 8 p.m. Wortham Theater Center, 500 Texas. For information, call 713-524-5050 or visit www.dacamera.com. $30 to $50.
