See who has become more-than-friends with Give Up in “Casual Encounters.”“The artists involved are people I’ve come to know and respect both artistically and personally,” says the curator/Houston wheat-paste artist, who garnered our award for Best Graffiti Artist in 2008. The show features local and international artists who share Give Up’s gritty, revealing style. “[There’s] no restrictions as far as theme or content or medium, hence the name,” Give Up says. Works include collages, photographs, portraits and illustrations from artists including the UK’s French, California’s Derek Albeck, Philadelphia’s (formerly Houston’s) Will Boone and Houston’s own Patrick Griffen, Dirty Jeff and, of course, Give Up. Today’s opening-night reception is at 7 p.m. Regular viewing hours are noon to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. Through June 6. Domy Books, 1709 Westheimer. For information, call 713-523-3669 or visit www.domystore.com. Free.
