Redbud Gallery: “Broken Brushes: Degenerate German Art 1930 - 1940”

Web exclusive!

This is one time that being called a degenerate is a good thing: German artists from the 1930s and 1940s whom Hitler found objectionable were labeled “degenerate.” Redbud Gallery has a rare showing of these artists in “Broken Brushes: Degenerate German Art 1930-1940.” The exhibit includes paper work by such artists as Dix, Chagall, Munch and many more. Noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Through May 31. 303 East 11th Street. For information, call 713-862-2532 or visit www.redbudgallery.com. Free.
Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: May 16. Continues through May 31, 2009
