More About

In Sullivan’s Travels, it’s the 1940s and John. L. Sullivan (Joel McCrea), a young Hollywood director, is tired of making superficial comedies. He longs to make a serious, weighty film about the downtrodden. In order to better understand their plight, Sullivan decides to spend some time living as a hobo. But life on the road isn’t what he expected — especially once he partners up with a beautiful woman (the lovely Veronica Lake in one of her first roles). 8:30 p.m. Domy Books, 1709 Westheimer.
