“Louisiana’s Most Wanted: Charles Barbier and Hunter Roth”

Web exclusive!

Mexican movie posters, skeletons and vintage pinups provide the aesthetics for “Louisiana’s Most Wanted: Charles Barbier and Hunter Roth,”a collection showing, among other things, vibrant scenes of life on the Rio Grande border. The exhibit’s centerpiece is Wanted Alive, a poster showing the late Tom Jones, former director of Houston’s Art Car Museum. (Barbier and Roth know a few things about art cars — the pair have had entries in the Houston parade, and Roth won the People’s Choice Award at last year’s Baton Rouge Art Car Parade.) “Louisiana’s Most Wanted” will show new collaborative work (the two say they paint elbow to elbow on joint projects) and solo pieces. 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Through July 11. Las Manos Magicas. 4819 Blossom Street. For information, call 713-802-2530 or visit www.lasmanosmagicas.com. Free.
Wednesdays-Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Starts: May 6. Continues through July 11, 2009
