The Belleville Outfit
Published on June 30, 2009 at 1:25pm
Austin six-piece The Belleville Outfit, whose latest CD Time to Stand has the capital city on its feet, combines country, blues and rockabilly to create a swinging sound that demands an equivalent amount of dancing. Fast-paced songs like "Sunday Morning" and "Nothing's Too Good for My Baby" will set toes a-tapping almost involuntarily, while the slower "Let Me Go" clears the way for an old-fashioned two-step. There may not be much room to dance at the Duck, but The Belleville Outfit — recently nominated for the Americana Music Association's "New and Emerging Artist" award — should stir up every last square inch.
