At Blue Planet Cafe, (1330 Wirt, 713-681-9800), the hummus salad plate ($5.25) comes with plenty of healthy items like sticks of celery, cherry tomatoes, mini carrots and baked pita pieces, to dip into some of the best hummus you'll find in the city. Owner Ingrid Syan adds a few secret ingredients to her smooth hummus along with sweet red peppers and chipotle peppers, which give it a distinctly orangey hue and a distinct flavor with a touch of heat.
