The Music of the Night

Be there when David Gaschen brings the Phantom to life

If you love Broadway but hate to fly, you can drive over to Conroe tonight to catch a bona fide star of the Great White Way, as the Crighton Theatre welcomes David Gaschen, a Texas native son, back to the Lone Star State to perform in The Music of the Night. In the concert-style performance, the singer will hearken back to his days as the title star of The Phantom of the Opera and to his future as a solo recording artist and concert singer. This Phantom certainly knows what he's doing: He was cast in the role in a Swiss production at age 26, and since then he's performed it more than 1,300 times, including a lengthy stint on Broadway. So, gird your emotions for some soulful singing and know that you're in the hands of a pro. 8 p.m. 234 North Main, Conroe. For information, call 936-441-7469 or visit www.crightontheatre.org. $45 to $55.
