Doomsday vs. The Economy

Wrestlers face tough times - with a vengeance

Doomsday Wrestling just got serious (in, you know, a fake-sport kind of way). "Anybody who loses a match is pretty much fired," says announcer Tex LoneStar. "Usually it's about a vendetta to settle. No, this time you're fighting for a job, you're fighting to put food on the table." During Doomsday vs. The Economy, members of the comedy/sport troupe will go head-to-head in order to keep their "pro"-wrestler status. Doomsday favorites like Queen Kong, Your Worst Nightmare and The Kosher Killer will face off in seven matches, including a ladies-only "Insane Chain o' Pain" bout. Motor City Mama and Boom Shakalaka will be chained at the wrist to the cunning convict Hard Time, and then it's anything goes until somebody gets a KO. See who wins the right to remain employed at 8 p.m. Fitzgerald's, 2706 White Oak. For tickets and information, call 713-862-3838 or visit www.doomsdaywrestling.com. $15.
