Daniel Jacobus is the music teacher from Hell. He's grumpy, rude and wants nothing more than to have his students leave him be. Elias clearly knows his music - he's been the associate concertmaster of the Utah Symphony since 1988. And Jordan, herself a musician, was "immediately drawn into the book" in part because the main character is "a blind violinist who is a little bit crotchety. Because he's blind, his other senses are heightened and he uses them along with deductive reasoning" to catch a killer and prove his innocence.
