Get a taste of exceptional international cinema when The First Annual Indian Film Festival of Houston brings some of the country's latest and greatest to Houston. The fest goes through Friday and will include ten feature-length movies, short films and documentaries. Screenings include Smile Pinki, an award-winning documentary about an impoverished girl whose life is changed by free surgery, and Janala, a feature about a young man who returns home to India to try and rebuild his crumbling former school. (All will have English subtitles.) A closing-night gala will be held at the InterContinental Hotel. Studio Movie Grill, 805 Town and Country Lane.
