The 12-year-old protagonist in Talento Bilingüe de Houston's production of Bocón has seen more trauma than most adults. When Miguel flees the military regime in his Central American country for the safety of the United States, he loses his parents and his ability to speak along the way. Nevertheless, with supernatural intervention from the legendary "Weeping Woman" of Mexico, Miguel finds the courage to continue on his journey. It doesn't take a refugee to identify with the boy, though - any child who's struggling to make his or her way in the world will relate. 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Through September 30. 333 South Jensen. For information, call 713-222-1213 or visit www.tbhcenter.org. $6.50.
Sept. 28-30, 9:30 & 11:15 a.m., 2009
