Rob Mungle/Nick Graza

A local comedian stokes right-wing anger, but just for laughs

When local comedian Rob Mungle tackles topical issues, he goes after the right wing with liberal fire and brimstone. "I like making [my opinion] known with, shall I say, colorful language and an angry backbone," he says. But his intention is not to offend - it's to entertain. "I don't care if people disagree with me politically or whatever. I want people to come to the show and have fun," he says. "At the end of the day, if it's not funny, it doesn't mean anything. You're just up there bitching about something." And if that doesn't satisfy Glenn Beck fans? "I got a couple of Barack Obama jokes, so there ya go." See Mungle with California comic Nick Gaza at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday; 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. Saturday, and 8 p.m. Sunday. Laff Stop, 526 Waugh. For information, call 713-524-2333 or visit www.laffstop.com. $15 to $20.
