I do, I do - kill you
Love can be a bitch - just ask the monster in Bride of Frankenstein. A sequel to the 1931 horror film Frankenstein, the 1935 Bridefeatures Boris Karloff in all his creepiness as the monster and a very young Elsa Lanchester as the bride who rejects him (a fatal error on her part). After lots of stomping around by the monster (he's a little clumsy) and evil maneuvering by Dr. Frankenstein and his sidekick, a bride is finally created ("She's alive! She's alive!"). But the joy is short-lived - the monster reaches out to the bride, gently asking, "Friend?" only to have her answer him with an ear-piercing scream. (He takes that as a "no.") Dejected, the monster destroys the lab, telling the bride, "We belong dead," as everything explodes and burns around them.
