Bayou City Festival Downtown
All the king's horses and all the king's men...are enjoying art al fresco
The Art Colony Association's Bayou City Art Festival Downtownoffers not only thousands of artworks but lots of live entertainment. This year, an all-time-high 850 artists from around the world submitted work to the jury; 300 made the cut. The result is a truly world-class selection of artworks, including the bronze Humpty Dumpty sculptures of featured artist Kimber Fiebiger, which are creepy and cute at the same time. Many artists will provide close-up demonstrations and lead kids in crafts and projects. Musicians and dancers are on the festival's entertainment schedule; CORE Performance Company will dance a world premiere. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. City Hall/Hermann Square, 901 Bagby.
