Yes, there'll be food by some of the best chefs in the Gulf Coast for tasting at the 38th Annual Great Taste of the Gulf Epicurean Evening, and yes, the Silver Spoon and Silver Fork awards will be presented to a couple outstanding restaurateurs. But the real reason to make the hour-long trek to Galveston Island on a Tuesday night is to see the stars of the Houston Fire Fighters Calendar signing copies of the upcoming 2010 edition. 6 to 8:30 p.m. Moody Gardens Convention Center, One Hope Boulevard, Galveston. For information, call 409-765-3514 or visit www.epicureanevening.com. $30 to $35.
