Little Shop of Horrors

That's a hell of a case of indigestion

The simple request "Feed me!" never sounded so menacing as it does in the Texas Repertory Theatre's production of Little Shop of Horrors. The doo-wop musical spoofs the over-the-top sci-fi thrillers of the 1950s with a story about a man-eating plant from outer space. (She's named Audrey II, and she utters the show's signature line, "Feed me, Seymour.") The show's score is by Alan Menken, and the book is by Howard Ashman (the pair also wrote Disney's stage plays Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid). Texas Rep has added the considerable talents of Seattle-based puppeteer Daniel Roberts to their roster of local talent for this show. 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays. Through October 31. 14243 Stuebner Airline Road. For information, call 281-583-7573 or visit www.texreptheatre.org. $35 to $45.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 1. Continues through Oct. 31, 2009
