Circus Mechanics’ Birdhouse Factory

It just takes a little imagination to go from widgets to wonderland

Think Cirque du Soleil meets Charlie Chaplin, and you’ll have some idea of what the Circus MechanicsBirdhouse Factory is all about. The 12-member company includes cyclists, acrobats, dancers, clowns and contortionists previously with the Moscow Circus, the Pickle Family Circus, and the aforementioned Cirque du Soleil. Set in a 1940s factory, the show features the performers working on a boring assembly line. But when a bird accidentally flies into the factory, it sparks the workers’ imaginations, and everything changes. Yes, the workers continue building widgets, but now they fly through aerial hoops, contort their way through giant gears and generally amaze the audience while they do it. 7:30 p.m. Miller Outdoor Theatre, 100 Concert Drive, Hermann Park.
