Rocky Horror Show

Is that your ray gun or are you just happy to see me?

Long-time Alley Theatre Company Member Paul Hope takes on directing duties for The Rocky Horror Show at the University of Houston. The fun begins when Brad and Janet, a young couple in love, stumble into flamboyant mad scientist Dr. Frank N. Furter’s campy castle. Their visit is punctuated by song-and-dance numbers, lots of sexual pairings, and of course, ray gun toting space aliens. Along with the easily-led-astray Brad and Janet, and the trendy transvestite Frank N. Furter, the cast includes a biker with half a brain (literally), a hunchbacked handyman, and the terribly handsome Rocky Horror. 8 p.m. today. Show runs through November 1. Wortham Theatre, 4800 Calhoun. For a complete schedule, call 713-743-2929 or visit www.uh.edu. $10 to $20.
Oct. 23-25; Oct. 29-Nov. 1, 2009
