Kimberly Frost: Barely Bewitched

Magical misfires from a young witch

A young witch named Tammy Jo is at the center of Kimberly Frost's newest novel, Barely Bewitched. Seems Tammy Jo, who came late to the witching game, isn't a very good conjurer and needs some training, which is why two senior members of the World Association of Magic have come to town - maybe. They might actually be there to start a bit of mayhem; Tammy Jo isn't sure. She just knows that since they've been in town, things haven't been quite right. With pixie dust flying, and the human, fairy and witch realms colliding in completely unacceptable ways, Tammy Jo has just one choice: She's going to have to ask for help from someone outside her circle. Is it her fault that someone just happens to be incredibly handsome and unequivocally off-limits? Frost, a Houston-based author, signs and reads from Barely Bewitched today at 6 p.m. Barnes & Noble, 3003 West Holcombe. For information, call 713-349-0050 or visit www.barnesandnoble.com. Free.
