More than 150 masks, weapons, pottery pieces, costumes and intricate feathered headdresses make up the "Spirits and Headhunters: Vanishing Worlds of the Amazon" exhibit currently at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Among the highlights of the show are the elaborate ceremonial headdresses. Dirk Van Tuerenhout, curator of anthropology for the museum, says through press materials, "These pieces are an art form by themselves and are extremely rare." The everyday life of the Ticuna, Kayap—, Ka'apor and other Amazonian tribes is also seen through extraordinary photographs by Cristina G.
