Susan Kandel: Dial H for Hitchcock

What would Alfred do?

Cece Caruso is in a bit of a tailspin. The central character in Susan Kandel's newest release, Dial H for Hitchcock, Cece has called off her wedding (even though she's not sure why), and her latest project, a biography of master filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, is way past its deadline. Hoping to jump-start her creative juices, she catches a screening of Hitchcock's Vertigo. But she leaves the theater with someone else's cell phone, someone who just happens to get thrown off a cliff. Now Cece's on the hook for the murder, and missing her deadline doesn't seem so bad. 6:30 p.m. Murder by the Book, 2342 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-524-8597 or visit www.murderbooks.com.
