You have to admit, coming up with an idea for an expo for men, where they can walk around doing manly things, is marketing genius. "We wanted to work on something that we could enjoy doing every day," Shawna Suckow, one of The Guy Expo's organizers, tells us. "We knew it had to involve beer. From there, it evolved into a ton of things that would be of interest to guys. Guys don't like to shop, they want to dosomething, preferably something they can hit. They wanna show off, and they wanna compete with their friends." The Guy Expo provides them with plenty of chances to do just that. Some of the biggest draws are the interactive stations by local pro sports teams. "All the sports teams are bringing interactive stuff. The Houston Dynamo are even bringing a whole inflatable field - everything's inflatable," Suckow says, quickly adding, "but the cheerleaders are real." 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas. For information, call 615-452-5535 or visit www.theguyexpo.com. Free to $8.
