Houston Peruvian Festival

Alpacas don't bite, do they?

It's three full days of music, dance, art and food at the Houston Peruvian Festival. Along with live bands, folk dancers including Houston-based dance group Raices del Peru, and traditional Peruvian food, there's an Alpaca petting zoo for the kids. Artists and vendors are coming in from Peru to show off their wares, while tango dancers will be performing and holding short lessons to give you a leg up on the fun. 7 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The Heights Theater, 339 West 19th Street. For information, call 512-576-2142 or visit www.houstonperuvianfestival.com. $10.
Fri., Nov. 13, 7 p.m.-midnight; Sat., Nov. 14, 7 p.m.-midnight; Sun., Nov. 15, 1-6 p.m., 2009
