Wild Moccasins aren't the sort of band to wait around for a CD release or tour kickoff. "Why can't we just throw a really fun party?" says front man Cody Swann. The local popsters booked a show with scene-mates Giant Princess and Buxton (who have recently been in the studio recording new tracks), but Swann and company didn't stop at an enticing local lineup full of pop, rock and folk riffs. Attendees are encouraged to wear shirts that won't mind falling victim to the evening's "graffiti" theme. "We're going to go to Texas Art Supply and buy a bunch of paint markers and stuff, and kind of get people to not be afraid to write all over each other," says Swann. Concertgoers can then capture their artistic endeavors at a green-screen photo station where the background can be changed to look like a picture-perfect prom night, the set of Star Wars or more. But as Billy Mays would say, wait, there's more! Admission includes free hot food from Ray's Franks — known for naming their delicious hot dogs after horror-movie characters — and the chance to win gift cards to MOVIES! The Store and the River Oaks Landmark Theatre. "It could easily bomb or be really cool," Swann says. "But it's just something we want to try that we haven't seen people do."
