Star of Bethlehem

Miracle or fiery comet, you decide

Was the star that led the three wise men to the infant Jesus a miracle or a normal astronomical event? Like many other planetariums, the Houston Museum of Natural Science has been telling the story of the Christmas star for years, exploring the possibilities that it was a comet or a meteor. But recently discovered information has raised some questions about those theories, which are detailed in Star of Bethlehem. See a re-creation of the night sky as it was seen at the time of the birth of Jesus, while experts take a go at the competing theories. 12:30 and 3 p.m. daily. Through January 4. One Hermann Circle Drive. For information, call 713-539-4629 or visit www.hmns.org. $7 to $8.
Dec. 1-Jan. 4, 12:30 & 3 p.m., 2009
